Farewell

I am living in Australia from the last 18 months (6 months in Sydney and in Melbourne completed one year just yesterday). I worked at quite a few places from the last 3 years, but Melbourne is the best of all for so many reasons. Perfect work –life balance, excellent people, most happening place, always lively etc..……This is the place to be. Today is my last day in Melbourne, from the last three days attending farewell parties from colleagues, friends and from managers. Australia remains special place for me forever, spend my time with the friends I always wanted and I always feel proud about. They changed my life altogether and taught me so many new things in life. I miss them a lot, and I miss some of them forever but the days I spend with them remains in my heart forever.

One surprising exclusive farewell from my senior most manager, he is the perfectionist. He is living “tree change”, tree change is a popular life style in Australia who give up city life for trees. He and his wife living in a huge farm house far away from the city. He invited me to come over and spend a day in his farm house as a farewell remark. I was on ecstasy for this sudden surprise. Went to his place with my friend, he came to station and took us to his farm house. I was in assumption that his wife must be boring at home as house is very huge and she lives alone throughout the day but at the end of the day realized that she needs 48 hours a day. She breeds and sells Alpacas, as of now she is having 20 to 25 alpacas. Cost of one Alpaca can be up to tens of thousands of dollars. She gave introduction about Alpacas for few hours; another manager who is very close to me gave a surprise visit over there. Had an excellent lunch and then long walk with their dogs, introduction to their horses, tennis court visit, some time in their warehouse, walk around the farm house and then a good bye. Another memorable day of my life, no phones, no computers, no traffic, no sounds, just a peaceful and exciting day.

Leaving Australia with great farewell. May come back in future, at least a visit to this farm house with my wife and to meet these great people.
